A Person
I'm Fletcher,
I'm an exchange student(age 17) leaving America to live in Lima, Peru for a year. I am selflessly and boldly going where many have gone before! Just for clarification, if I appear to be having fun in anything that I post, I am not. This is an entirely serious matter. After all, I have a job to do. I may not know what it is but rest assured there is ZERO tolerance for shenanigans. It's work gosh darn it. I wasn't sent to have fun and games. I'm supposed to do difficult things. Like going to school, and making friends with locals. It's hard work we exchange students do around here, and I'll be darned if we do it any other way.
Anyway as I digress, I would like to help, through my time and many posts to come, those reading come to a better understanding of what it is like for a person alien to the language and culture to be immersed in it. I'm sure there will be many things to write about as I spend my time in Peru. Both good, bad, and stuff that probably is better off not being written about at all(It's to your benefit, mom.). Until then, have a good read!

A Plane
I have a 12 hour plane ride ahead of me. Envious much? Yeah, I know.
Well It wasn't 12 hours of plane riding but it was easily 18+ hours of shuffling about,
First was O'hare international, which was a breeze went right through security and waited for my flight for about a little more than an hour. then took off for Houston international, which wasn't so bad either. It just so happens I get headaches from motion sickness, like plane rides. we had about a 2 hour lay over there. Then the plane once we were finally on it was delayed for an hour for "mechanical issues" whatever that was exactly. After which we set off for a 6 or 7 hour plane ride with all the terrible airplane food you could ever want... And of course as a compliment, a stranger that finds your personal space-bubble oddly comfortable to sleep in...yeah...
After our (there were 5 other exchange students that arrived with me from America) arrival in Lima we then proceeded to go through customs, which took forever and a day, then baggage claim, when all was said and done I left the airport sometime past midnight I think. Not exactly sure, all the clocks I carried contradicted each other. That's just the time I remember seeing that was the earliest. Once home I got somewhat settled and crashed and that was pretty much my plane ride story.
Sorry nothing catastrophic or exciting happened. It probably would be more interesting.

And Perú
Been there done that.
Now it's your turn.
